| i've joined a band of gypsies and i'm leaving on monday for unknown destinations and adventures. with a new chapter in life comes a new way of looking at the past, present and future. Ideas on these topics and a log of weekly and monthly events can be found here, as this journal will no longer be updated. I hope it will somehow keep my friends and family updated and, in a small way, included in the experiences that I share with the band on the road.

| "Ignorance is bliss." "I used to think so...but essentially, ignorance is ignorance...it's a curtain that idealists hide behind in order to shield themselves from responsibility. There is something to be said for those who have knowledge, especially the kind the hurts, and then use it for the good of the people around them." "..." "But if I had to choose...I'd choose ignorance. I suppose even those of us who aren't truly idealists would still like to be on some level...even if it's not real." | | |
| "So that's what it means when someone says, 'I'm gonna kill you!'"
Anyone that would like to just, like, give me money is more than welcome to do so. Cash will do fine...no bearbucks, please.
"So does it hurt to get tattooed?" "No." "Really? Everyone else that I've asked said that it did..." "Well, they were right." "But you just said that it didn't hurt." "I know." "So you lied...?" "Not necessarily. I simply made a statement contradictory to the truth, OR what is commonly perceived as being the truth." "Oh, well...that's different I s'pose..." "Shyeah...way different."
| "...these sandcastles have killed my mind."
I tried and was shot down, but hey, my efforts did not go unrewarded.
"Also, you get to see some amazing explosions."
We saw Batman Begins last night. Aside from the continuity errors with previous Batman films, and a love interest that remained undeveloped throughout...I dare say it was my favorite Batman film. This is taking into account that the first one was well done but not nearly as aesthetically pleasing as the second, which lacked a certain amount of depth in the plot...this one had all of the above...with the exception of the aforementioned lack of developement in the love story. I just wasn't convinced that Bruce was in love with this girl...and that's ok, as he was never very good with women anyhow.
"Eep!...Ninjas!" "Yeah, that's what he just said. 'The ninja can make himself invisible.'" "I know...but that ninja WAS invisible. He was all like, waaashahhhh!" "Oh, how was he all like?" "...shut up."
| I just had a sickening epiphany. I think I'd really like to leave forever.
Aside from that, though, we're doing alright.
"The Orbis has taken control of Down Town. They've added three parties to the ring in just two months, moving their boundry lines all the way to the East End subway lines. We've been working for them, helping them to get to where they are...and we've done a good job. We've moved their guns, their drugs...their bodies...all over this town. They've paid us well enough...but they've taken more than we were willing to sacrifice. They've taken our city...and they've taken our friends. Earlier today, I spoke on an elevator with the man who shot Blank and Sars two weeks ago. His name is, or was, Adam Tichner...these are the contents of his wallet: twenty three dollars in cash, a photo of his wife and kid, one of the dog...and a few ID cards and credit cards. The fact that this guy had photos of his family AND several forms of identification on him tells us that he was not an Orbis agent. At best, he was an outsourced hitman, hired by the ring because they didn't want a trail leading back to them when Blank and Sars, two of their own employees, wound up dead in the West End aquaducts. As payment for his actions, Adam Tichner, as of about four hours ago, has become the first casuality in a revolution that he didn't even know he had instigated. He's at the bottom of a very long elevator shaft. The Orbis will be picked apart piece by piece until we get to the mind that gave the order to have Blank and Sars killed. Not to mention the fact that almost all of Down Town is now owned and operated by the Orbis' network of frontmen...I believe we are in a very unique position. We've gathered you all here because we are confident that you feel as we do regarding the ring's actions toward us and the entire city. We believe that you each have something to contribute to this effort, which we are calling the Dabaser Collective. You're all here because destiny has called upon you to-"
"Whoa, hold up...'destiny'?" "Yeah...I thought it sounded dramatic." "And that's all it is, it just SOUNDS dramatic. If it's not dramatic on its own, trying to dress it up only makes it into a joke." "Well...should I like, pump my fist and pace around?" *snicker* "Shyeah...that'd be hilarious, man." *snicker* "You suck."
